The Commonwealth Youth Programme (CYP) on Thursday evening presented the Strategic Plan for Youth Development 2008-2012 to the Government of Guyana.Present to hand over the plan was the Deputy Secretary General of the Commonwealth Secretariat, Mrs. Mmasekgoa Masire-Mwamba.Receiving the plan on behalf of the Government of Guyana was Prime Minister, Samuel Hinds and the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sport,Fc Bayern M?nchen Fanshop, Dr. Frank Anthony.Mrs Masire-Mwamba began her address by thanking the Government and people of Guyana for being host to the Commonwealth Youth Programme since 1974.One of the portfolios that falls under her umbrella of responsibility is that of Youth Development and coming from a developing country, Mrs. Masire-Mwamba,Fc Bayern Trikot G?nstig, who hails from the Republic of Botswana makes her interest in the sector more than just professional. It is in fact personal to her. She noted that when the Commonwealth was deliberating on the theme for its 60th anniversary celebrated last year, the organisation revisited the purpose of the organisation from a fresh perspective and came up with the theme: Serving a New Generation which Mwamba claimed was a loaded statement.The Commonwealth took the opportunity to rededicate itself to the future and in the spirit of serving,Maillot Psg Femme, there existed the core idea of working with the many partners of shared development who join with the organisation in the achievement of common goals.The Commonwealth and its global partners have colluded to respond to youth issues and deliver on the mandates issue by the Commonwealth Ministers of Youth during their meeting in Sri Lanka in 2008.Representing the Regional Office of the CYP was the Regional Director,Neues Bayern Trikot 2018/19, Mr. Henry Charles, who said that the plan covers three main areas,Bayern M?nchen Trikot 2019, those of Youth Work and Educational Training, Youth Enterprise and Sustainable Livelihoods as well as Governance, Youth Works and Development.The key points of the plan raised under these three issues are those of creating a profession around Youth Work for those involved in the field as well as those looking to become a part of it through the offering of an accreditation and the drafting of a code of ethics; micro-financing for young entrepreneurs and working with Government and Non-Governmental Organisations for better implementation and management of youth policies and initiatives.Charles also opined that it was an exciting time in the field of Youth Development where such events as the Commonwealth Secretariat’s adoption of the first-ever stand alone declaration on youth called Invested in Youth and other initiatives along the same lines are coming to the fore. The Director took the opportunity to implore that everyone, regardless of station or status with respect to decision making, management and policy environment should remember that the sustainable development of the region and the continued existence of Caribbean civilisation depend on how much we invest in youth.The latter noted that among the many indicators of the plan which have already been delivered upon, special attention needs to be paid to the pilot programmes on Micro-financing and Youth Entrepreneurship which should be scaled up and perhaps reapplied,James Rodriguez Trikot Damen, he also hinted at the possibility of hosting the training for the youth work accreditations online in the future.

Attorney at Law Khemraj Ramjattan is preparing to take legal action against the state and the Attorney General on behalf of the teenage boy who was tortured while in police custody.Ramjattan, who is representing the now 15-year-old lad, told Kaieteur News on Tuesday that he has already taken a lengthy statement from the victim and is in the process of gathering other information related to the case.The attorney and AFC co-leader anticipates that the civil litigation will be ready within “a week or two.”Ramjattan’s disclosure came just hours after the Home Affairs Ministry released a report, which acknowledged that the teen was tortured by ranks at the Leonora Police Station on October 28 last.According to the released report, the victim alleged that the ranks covered his face with a jersey, which was secured around his head with scotch tape.That process caused him to be partly suffocated and he was told to undress and remove all his clothing after which,James Rodriguez Trikot Damen, he was beaten with a hard object. He said that he instructed Sergeant Clarke and Corporal Foo to visit and examine Thomas but on their return, he was advised that Thomas’s injuries were minor and he had received treatment.He did not enquire how the teen sustained his injuries,Maillot Psg Personnalis?, but on reporting the incident to AC Morrison he informed her that Thomas was burnt with methylated and matches by Dolai.

Several law enforcement officers from the three police divisions in Berbice: Sub- Divisions One, Two and Three,Maillot Psg Femme Pas Cher, participated in an education and empowerment seminar over the weekend from Operation DreamCatchers medical mission team from New York. The initiative was held at the University of Guyana Berbice Campus (UGBC).The ranks were educated through slideshow presentations on police response to persons with diabetes, heart disease, mental health problems, stroke, alcohol abuse and also exposed to CPR training.The ranks were also afforded the opportunity to ask questions of the medical team. At the end of the session,Tee Shirt Psg Femme Personnalis?, the team presented each Sub- Division with First Responders/First Aid Manuals and books which will be made available at the various police stations in East and West Berbice.One of the members of the team, Anesha Narain, stated that “we also are having a health fair where we have invited the public to come and will speak on the same topics….symptoms and causes, and we are trying to give out canes, walkers, wheel chairs, back braces and we come every year.”She noted that it is the team’s fourth mission, “and this is the first time we dealt with the members of the Guyana Police Force.”Operation DreamCatchers was started in September 2009 by three friends: Melissa Butchin and Stacey Longden in New York. The group has grown considerably over the years, with members both here and overseas.They raise funds to assist organizations and needy persons with medical supplies. The team that is currently in Guyana comprises medical students who are studying in New York at the moment.“At the same time, we try to educate the public because we want to try to prevent people from getting these diseases,” Narain stated.DreamCatchers has been visiting Guyana over the past four years at the behest of the Association of Bible Churches in Guyana and holding medical outreaches all across the country. So far, they have visited all the hospitals in Guyana.They travelled to Edinburgh,Maillot Psg Femme Personnalis?, Wakenaam, Mahaica, and St. Cuthbert’s Mission to visit with the communities and distribute medical items.
